The TB threat does not seem to be receding. Recent outbreaks in Wigtonshire have highlighted how easy it is for TB to enter an area. If you are buying calves, you would be wise to check the DEFRA website, It contains information about the areas you would be better to avoid buying stock from. Isolation and testing of animals pre or post purchase will also help to avoid buying in infected animals.

Early purchase of ToxovaxÒ and EnzovaxÒ is advised to avoid being caught out by any shortages. Ewes should be vaccinated at least a month before tupping.
